India or Switzerland or US

My advice - best place for you depends a lot on your personality. I have lived in 9 different cities in 3 countries. I loved all of those except last 2 years I spent in Bangalore. They were all perfect for the stage I was at that time in my life. But Thalwil (Switzerland / Zurich) was the first city where I got the feeling that I want to settle here. I want to make a home and never leave. You have to find that place which gels with your personality and stage in life.

I valued nature, easy access to outdoor activities the most. I love learning languages and knowing about different cultures. I am ok with a small social circle, and I am perfectly ok with day to day life being "boring" like clock work. So Bangalore was not the right place for me.

Some people I talked to who move back to India are not much into outdoors, they love large social life, celebrating Indian festivals, and find the daily routine here boring. When I was in Bangalore, there was so much to talk about at dinner table as inevitably something did "happen" on way to work. Here there is nothing to talk about, train came on time, you sat in train, you reached office and back. But our dinner conversations are filled with where can we hike next, where can we travel next, which marathon can we run, can we go cycling, or simply silence..... ... ok, the last part is not true anymore as the kids are still excited about something or other and keep shouting!
